  1. What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth technology is a set of standards suitable for short range wireless transfer of small amount of data.  It operates on 2.4GHz frequency which is unregulated in most countries.  Bluetooth devices are "paired" to operate in one-to-one real life applications.  The most common application is to provide handsfree function to Bluetooth enabled mobile phones.

  2. What is Bluetooth handsfree?
When a Bluetooth handsfree device is paired with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, and both have Bluetooth activated, the live conversation can be performed without holding the phone to one's ear, i.e., true wireless connection.  The Bluetooth technology transfers the 2-way conversation between the phone and handsfree device through wireless connection.

  3. What's the difference between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi?

Both wireless technologies operate on unregulated 2.4GHz frequency.  Bluetooth is for short-range smaller data amount, as opposed to the longer-range larger data amount carried by Wi-Fi connection.  Because the difference in transfer range, there is a big difference in power consumption between the two technologies.  Wi-Fi demands much high power input.

Bluetooth devices are designed to maintain a one-to-one "paired" connection, while Wi-Fi is designed to be one-to-many connection without pre-established relations.
